While the temperature gauges may be starting to back off slightly, things are really heating up on the Gold Coast this April. It’s Easter, yes, but adding to the buzz is Bleach* Festival and all of its goodness. This year, Bleach* is pouring into Burleigh to bring us the ultimate seaside sipping venue – a pop-up beach bar called the Burleigh Bleach* Club. It’s a festival first that is sure to quench your thirst … here’s what you need to know.

If there’s one thing we love more than a pop-up bar, it’s a beachfront pop-up bar – and now, just in time for the Easter break, Burleigh Heads will become home to the coast’s first-ever pop-up bar on the sand. The Burleigh Bleach* Club will operate from 2:00–10:00 pm daily from Wednesday April 17 to Sunday April 28, with the custom-built bar on the sand forming part of the Bleach* at Burleigh entertainment hub. Guests are invited to kick back on the deck, pull up a day bed, bar stool or patch of sand and enjoy 12 days of performances including dance, music and entertainment, which will be held across the Bleach* at Burleigh precinct.

The bar will be slinging Burleigh Brewing Mid-Tide, premium wines from Witches Falls, while the team at The Collective Catering will be dishing out a menu of nibbles and bites – think everything from proper English fish and chips with malt vinegar, through to burgers, fresh prawns and gnocchi bolognese. There’s a spectacular series of acts, performances and workshops that will be held in the Burleigh precinct, from the on-sand Tectonic performances (from April 17–21) to The Cleaners – a durational performance installation by multi-award-winning contemporary performance makers, Shock Therapy Productions. Scope out the full Bleach* on Burleigh program here and head on down to the beach bar for a beer, a bite and the best beach views in town!
