Bonjour French Festival brings berets, baguettes and bourguignon back to Broadbeach

A sea of bright-red berets will take over Broadbeach from November 10–11 for the annual Bonjour French Festival. The much-loved multicultural event will see Kurrawa Park come to life for two days of French food, music, entertainment and even a snail-eating competition. C’est si bon!

Now in its fifth year, Bonjour French Festival will roll out a jam-packed program of day-and-night events from Saturday November 10 (4:00–9:00 pm) and Sunday November 10 (9:00 am to 5:00 pm). It all kicks off on the Saturday afternoon with an opera performance followed up a classic French movie night under the stars, with a cellar area and French-food market stalls operating into the night.

The festival really ups the ante on Sunday, with a full day of cultural entertainment, stage performances, live music, as well as an attempt to break (the event’s own) Guinness World Record for the most amount of people wearing a beret in a French atmosphere. The French food market will run all-day Sunday showcasing classic dishes from pastries to cheese, crepes, wine and champagnes, camembert burgers (hello), drool-worthy raclette cheese creations and more. Oh, and your pup is welcome (on a leash) as well! General admission tickets are $10 and can be purchased online.
