Bleach* Festival officially opens for 2015
Bleach* Festival 2015 will kick-off in amazing style with a giant Mullet and people dressed as ants at the official opening party in Queen Elizabeth Park in Coolangatta.
Featuring an incredible array of events including a 48-hour stint on a sandbar for TIDE, an opera staged from apartment balconies at Feast on Bleach* and a silent movie night, this year’s Bleach* Festival is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet. The festival celebrates our Gold Coast lifestyle with a fiesta of music and arts across three mega weekends. The festivities begin this Friday with the official opening party that will offer just a taste of what’s to come. Catch the first glimpse of ERTH’s gigantic mullet that will pop-up at various locations around the Gold Coast and human-sized Ants from Polygot Theatre. While the official opening party starts from 5:45 pm, you’ll be able to catch the first Ants performance from 4:15 pm. After the opening soiree, head to the intimate setting of Kirra beach for the first performance of Sequins and Sinew that delivers a dazzling combination of aerial arts, acrobatics and dance.
Over the next three weeks, Bleach* Festival promises a plethora of superb events that will include eye-popping antics, street parties and communal picnics. The lovely Clare Bowditch is calling for like-minded creative folk to a Big-Hearted Business Morning Tea and there is a stellar line-up of local musical talent across a number of venues. Check out our event guide religiously over the next three weeks to ensure you don’t miss a thing. Get swept up in Bleach* Festival’s tidal wave of colour, culture and creativity.
