Browse colourful market stalls, participate in workshops and catch acoustic performances as part of the International Students Day celebrations that form part of the final weekend of Bleach* Festival’s activities. From 3:30 pm the highly-anticipated (m)Ocean takes over the waves and the point for a world-first experimental performance art piece that will attempt to present a live surf movie. Band of Frequencies and Kim Churchill will take turns between the instruments and the water to create a kind of symbiotic loop between the two. The idea is that the musicians will play to the rhythm of the surfers and vice versa. Afterwards, catch a beachside flick on The Cooly Kids that features interviews and rare archival footage from Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson, Peter Townend and Rabbit Bartholomew alongside Kong’s Island and Bunyip Dreaming. Bleach* at Burleigh is a free, family-friendly event.
