Mind-boggling ‘trick-art’ gallery ArtVo arrives on the Gold Coast
It’s been boggling minds, capturing imaginations and jazzing up Instagram feeds down in Melbourne, and now immersive ‘trick-art’ gallery ArtVo has arrived on the Gold Coast! Featuring a kaleidoscope of optical illusions that extend from the ceiling to the floor, this unique visual playground is now open at Robina Town Centre – and it’s set to turn the traditional art gallery on its head.
After creating quite a hype at Melbourne’s Docklands, the artistic phenomenon that is ArtVo Illusions is now open near The Kitchens at Robina Town Centre, featuring a mammoth 1481-sqm hand-painted art gallery that allows visitors to ‘be the art’ by going on self-guided gallery adventures through a curated series of immersive 3D reality-defying works. Visitors can take their time, stopping to (quite literally) put themselves in the pictures along the way, with each zone depicting various various scenes, locations and famous paintings that seemingly come to life before your eyes. There’s everything from Thor’s hammer to a Jaws scene, a giant barreling wave, a genie in the bottle, a dramatic Titanic re-enactment, Harry Potter platforms and so much more.
Queensland’s first-ever ArtVo came to life at the hands of 15 talented illusionary artists, who worked behind closed doors to create the optical illusions through colour, shape and patterns, resulting in one massive and truly spectacular visual playground featuring around 80 works across eight different themed zones. The remarkable installations are designed to trick the eye, which can all be perfectly captured through photography – so get set for Instagram overload!
