Celebrate eight years of dust in eight days at Dust Temple

They say time flies when you’re having fun, and that’s certainly the case for the much-loved Currumbin art space Dust Temple. It’s hard to believe that the cafe, art and event space has been sitting pretty (literally – it’s beautiful) in the burgeoning hub of creativity that is Currumbin’s industrial area for eight whole years. To celebrate, Dust Temple is hosting eight-day-long birthday party 8 Days of Dust – and there seems to be something for everyone in the line-up, which runs from May 23 to 30.

Many good parties have kicked off with a mimosa, and Dust Temple is doing just that with its Sunday Brunch. With an extended brunch menu available for savouring in the sun-drenched courtyard from 10:00 am, it’s the perfect way to while away a Sunday morning. Next up is the Seasonal Wine Tasting on Monday May 24, which is the launch of Dust Temple’s new intimate wine-tasting series alongside a delectable seasonal wine and bar snack offering. The wine tasting will be held by the fire in the Dust Temple courtyard for the ultimate in cosy autumnal vibes. Stop by on Tuesday May 27 for Let the Dust Settle, with the expert brew crew slinging cheap coffees all day, or on the big day – Wednesday May 26 – for an afternoon birthday party with good music, beers by the fire and a couple of cowboys.

The budding artists among us can try their hand at Life Drawing on Thursday May 27 (accompanied by live tunes) or pop in for Alternator Poetry, a free-flowing slam poetry session. For a Friday night spent by the fire with friends and good food, book in for the launch of the Winter Courtyard Series to experience the next instalment of the much-loved evening Courtyard Series feasts. The last weekend is also a cracker, with The Traveller’s Table taking diners on a voyage to Northland, New Zealand, and the NATION Street Press winter launch rounding things out on Sunday night. Whew! It’s a lot of fun packed into a whirlwind eight days. Head here to find booking details and times – you don’t want to miss this!
