Uninspired by the prevailing range of decor for littlies, Gold Coast-based mum Michelle Betty took matters into her own hands and began making blankets and cute cushions to deck out her son’s room. When the compliments began rolling in thick and fast, Michelle officially launched Xander-Lou in 2014 to create interior pieces with personality. The range has grown to include bear blankets, cactus cushions and adorable pink fox head pillows.
Each piece in the Xander-Lou collection is 100 percent handmade on the Gold Coast and originates from a design that Michelle has personally painted, which is then screen-printed onto fabric with the help of Michelle’s handy husband and sewn into fun shapes and animals. The creations are intended to spark play and endless adventure but also make super cute keepsakes of your baby’s first blankey.
