Social co-working spaces are springing up to help the new breed of freelancer, start-up and social entrepreneur to realise the potential of their business, by providing a working environment on a short-let arrangement. Worksocial is the brainchild of Ormeau business owner Dan Macready and is the first of its kind servicing both Brisbane and the Gold Coast from its Ormeau Ridge location.

Dan says he has felt, first-hand, the isolation of working for himself after leaving a city job to be able to spend more time with his family. As many realise, this arrangement presents its own set of challenges including lack of professional space to take clients, and a culture of motivational energy that working with others can provide. Dan hopes Worksocial will provide a space where business can really benefit being in a space with other members, instead of competing with them.
