At the end of a long week sitting in front a computer screen, some folk are content with spending the next two days simply kicking back and accomplishing nothing but eating and napping. But for the determined polymath, the weekend is for creating, tinkering away on one or several side projects.

The creation of graphic designers Mark Tzropek and Dana Rogers, Weak End Club is the couple’s tactile analogue respite from their digital daily grind. Shaped as a Sydney-based cross-disciplinary design practice, Weak End Club currently focuses on handcrafting stoneware ceramics, but has plans to expand its offerings to include lampshades, prints, soft furnishings and woodwork.

This side project was sparked after Dana took community classes in ceramics and passed on her newfound knowledge to Mark. Together, the pair then began shaping planters, bowls, plates, vases, vessels and trays in their spare time away from the desk. There’s a handmade rawness to each piece, with various vessels adorned in delicate dashes, two-tones of subdued colour, or with drips edging down from the lip.

Weak End Club has also created collections for Vanishing Elephant, and you can find its functional objects on the brand’s online store, with select pieces also over at Assembly Label.
