The gang from Eddie’s Grub House lifts the lid on The Pink Hotel

The team behind everybody’s favourite southern dive bar, burger hub and whisky den, Eddie’s Grub House in Coolangatta, has finally unveiled their latest project. Though, it’s not a restaurant, bar or cafe – it’s a boutique hotel. The Pink Hotel to be precise. Feel free to blink as much as you like – you certainly won’t miss this pink-hued beauty.

In June this year, the Eddie’s Grub House team took over the subtlepink Coolangatta Ocean View Motel, perched on the ocean-view parcel that lies in between Griffith Street and Marine Parade. A total refurbishment ensued, taking six months of major works to completely transform the weathered overnighter into an eclectic seaside escape, now officially known as The Pink Hotel. The facelift is highlighted externally by a fresh lick of millennial-pink paint and a guests-only rooftop cocktail bar, while each of the 17 rooms has been given its own identity and style.

The Pink Hotel features six luxury suites, nine standard rooms, one balcony room and one artist suite, which is complete with a white grand piano. There’s a mix of Danish, Swedish and mid-century styling across the rooms, with each featuring hand-painted works by artists Coco Loberg, Jamie Peters and Mike Shankster. The walls are adorned with custom neon-lit scribes of poetry, while the six luxury suites are equipped with their own record players with a selection of vinyl from the likes of Lou Reed to Lana del Rey and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Eddie’s Grub House (situated just below The Pink Hotel) will also be providing the room service, which means you can absolutely enjoy a towering cheese-laden beef burger, fries and honey-mustard chicken nuggies from the comfort of your king bed. By the way – no, you can’t live there. We already asked.

Bookings for The Pink Hotel can be made online.
