Dive right in to the coast’s new creative design den, The Ocean Club
There’s something uniquely special – and terrifying – about coming up with a completely out-of-the-box idea. On one hand, you’re creating something super exciting that’s brand-new in the space. On the other hand, there’s nobody that you can look to for guidance as what you’re creating hasn’t been done before. The inspiring duo behind The Ocean Club know this feeling all too well – however, the long slog to get here has well and truly paid off. What Madison and Reuben, creative directors behind The Ocean Club, have achieved is a dreamy new design space, bringing something completely unique to the Gold Coast.
Something of a chameleon, The Ocean Club doesn’t have one set purpose. Serving predominantly as a home renovation showroom that brings together drool-worthy design and the skilled tradespeople that make it shine, the space is simultaneously calm and inspiring – it’s kind of like all of our design dreams brought to life. Envisioned as a hub for collaboration between industry professionals, architects, home designers and renovators – to name just a few – The Ocean Club is a cutting-edge space for displaying the work of local makers and creatives. From the moment visitors step through the arched doors and behind the art deco facade, they will be able to experience an array of inspiring wares in a stylised setting – truly bringing them to life.
However, it doesn’t stop with the home design display – rather than being a static showroom, The Ocean Club has been designed as a space to authentically foster community and collaboration. The upstairs loft will be used for rotating art exhibitions and the fluid downstairs area is already in demand for events and photo shoots. Even though The Ocean Club officially opens on October 9, the pre-opening demand is easy to understand when you take in the light-filled space, floor-to-ceiling glass walls and the ultimate complimentary beverage bar, which sits pretty behind an expansive servery window offering sunset views across the water.
