Hello, darling – The Star Gold Coast reveals the name and a sneak peek of its newest hotel

The Gold Coast’s newest luxury hotel now has a name. Friends, meet The Darling. She sure is a beauty, and she’s coming to life at the front of The Star Gold Coast property in the heart of Broadbeach. Here’s a sneak peek of what to expect from the alluring new venue.

Let’s make this even more fun and throw some numbers at you. So, The Darling is 17 storeys high, will feature 57 luxury suits ranging in size from 70–328 sqm, and there’s a gravity-defying infinity pool that sits 67 metres above ground and five metres beyond the side of the tower. At the very top of the structure will be a high-end restaurant and lounge bar (all will be revealed very soon), which will overlook the infinity pool and boast direct ocean views. There will be nine suite types, including the ultra-opulent The Darling Suites, the largest of which will feature two king bedrooms and 80-sqm balconies. Some suites will even feature a billiard room, a karaoke room (yes, you read that right) and a private gymnasium. Plus, guests will be treated to butler service and the finest level of amenities and luxury finishes.

The Darling at The Star shares the same beautiful name as its stylish counterpart at The Star Sydney, which became the first in New South Wales to be awarded a Forbes Five-Star rating – the most coveted recognition in the global luxury travel sector. At the helm of The Darling at The Star Gold Coast will be John Autelitano, who most recently oversaw the The Star Sydney’s hotel portfolio. The naming of the new luxury hotel also coincided with the naming of The Star Gold Coast’s existing hotel, which will now be known as The Star Grand. All up, the refurbishments of the existing property (The Star Grand), and the development of both the new suite hotel (The Darling) and the proposed hotel and residential tower (The Star Residences), equates to an investment of up to $850 million.
