The Borrowed Nursery opens new events and green space

We all fell in love with The Borrowed Nursery when it presented its little green self to the Gold Coast two years ago. Fast forward to now, and the popular nursery has outgrown its flagship digs and has expanded into a wondrously rustic warehouse on Cronulla Avenue in Mermaid Beach – and it now doubles as a rad events space with plenty in the pipeline already for 2017.

It’s always a good vibe when we hear of and see Gold Coast businesses flourishing (for lack of a better word). Owner Lauren Lance, an interior designer, super-talented botanical stylist and all-round plant genius,  jumped into the world of greenery at just the right time. Why? Well, because the plants that our parents and grandparents loved, are now insanely cool again – and Lauren plans to keep it that way by creating an even bigger space where good quality, artisan-style plants, pots and vessels can be offered against the grain of the mass-produced retailers (we’re looking at you, Bunnings). At the new Borrowed Nursery, you’ll find a larger collection of low-maintenance plants geared toward more balcony-garden style spaces – the perfect balance of aesthetics and practicality.

The events arm will come to fruition in early 2017, and what we can tell you is that aside from private events and bookings (these are already flowing through the door by the way), there are also catered long lunches in the pipeline – can you imagine? This has us a tad excited. The Borrowed Nursery space is also available for photo shoots and has already leant it’s rustic chalky white brick walls and lush plants to a number of product shoots, and there plans to lease exclusive parts of the space to florists. It’s a real events hub here, with plants, tablewares and accessories all available for hire.  You won’t miss The Borrowed Nursery’s bright white warehouse and bright peach door – and it’s in good company with 19 Karen gallery and the all-new KoKo Coffee Roasters in the midst. Jump over here to keep in The Borrowed Nursery Loop.
