After more than a decade of painting and screenprinting, Gold Coast local Susan Simonini sought a new outlet for her creativity and on a whim decided to enrol in a community class at her local potters studio. From the moment she felt the clay between her fingers, she was hooked. Susan now spends her time creating rustic, functional and decorative pottery from earthy, textured clays. Each piece is rolled and shaped by hand, meaning that no two pieces are perfectly identical – a key feature of Susan’s unique design aesthetic.
