Get your hands dirty at Currumbin Valley’s Stoka Clay Studio
Nestled in the foothills of Currumbin Valley you’ll find Stoka Clay Studio – a creative haven where you can get your hands dirty, tune in to the creative process and zone out from the world around you. Whether you’re a master mud-thrower or just a beginner at building with clay, the studio provides a relaxed retreat from the hustle-and-bustle of daily life.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a natural creative or have two left thumbs, you may just surprise yourself with the results of having a go at creating something new. Stoka Clay Studio is fully equipped with kilns and equipment, meaning that you’ll have all the tools to realise your pottery dreams (whatever they may be). Rather than just a class, the Stoka experience is designed as a chance to disconnect from stress and have some fun! Get your hands dirty during one of regularly scheduled ‘Clay Play’ days, indulge in a creative Friday date-night or jump into one of the one-night workshops (such as the Handmade Dinner Set session) and come away with an impressive set for showing-off.
Stoka Clay Studio is set on acreage down the road from the Currumbin Eco Village, which means you can pop into Pasture & Co for a coffee on the way, or complete your day of relaxation with a delicious bite to eat. The studio’s lush locale is home to two Haflinger horses, and the space is rustic and laid-back (think exposed wooden beams, Turkish rugs and glimmering festoon lights). Each piece you create is intended to be both functional and beautiful, with the capable Vrinda from Stoka guiding you through the steps, no matter your skill level.
