Simply Recycled has been transforming timber scraps into rustic bed frames with bookshelves at the base, coffee tables or something else entirely since 2013 and has gained a solid following from people who appreciate quality and craftsmanship.

The workshop, based in Miami on the Gold Coast, is stacked with piles of offcuts and seemingly unsalvageable pieces of timber that the crafty pair converts into something beautiful.

The timber is sourced from various demolition sites around southeast Queensland that would have otherwise been crushed and delivered into landfill. Some of the pair’s favourite pieces were made from timber that was rescued from the old Tweed wharf. Every piece that is lovingly produced here has a story, a story that cannot be replicated en masse.

All material used by Simply Recycled is free from chemicals that are often found in mass-produced pieces made from MDF and treated pine. As a carpenter by trade, Luke is an advocate of education about the treatment of the timber that people are bringing into their homes.

Simply Recycled only makes to order and can create bespoke custom pieces and even restore treasured pieces.
