At long last, day trips to IKEA may soon be a distant memory with news that the flat-pack retailer will (finally) embrace e-commerce and begin testing an online retail store in Australia. The online store will be trialled in several urban locations and include a small format IKEA store and pick-up point, but before you get too excited, the specific locations have not yet been announced.

The only downside to an online IKEA store? Not finding yourself happily lost in the maze-like store somewhere between kitchen utensils and soft furnishings with a trolley full of stuff you didn’t go there to buy but couldn’t possibly live without.
