Harbour Town Gold Coast unveils $20-million expansion

Australia’s largest Outlet Shopping Centre, Harbour Town Gold Coast, has unveiled a $20-million expansion that will increase the centre’s footprint by 3,500 square metres and deliver a refreshed alfresco dining precinct.

Harbour Town Gold Coast’s imminent expansion will include an additional mall that features a new collection of premium outlet fashion brands as well as extensive upgrades to the existing centre. The works will be completed in three stages, the first of which is a 400-space carpark that is already underway and due for completion before Christmas. The second stage, which is scheduled for completion by mid-2016, will add a brand new retail precinct and upgrades to the northern end of the centre. The third stage will follow shortly after and deliver a redesigned dining precinct featuring an enhanced range of cafes and restaurants.

A number of key existing brands, including Coach, Calvin Klein and Nike, have recently completed notable refurbishments, while the opening of Australia’s very first Victoria’s Secret Outlet Store in July has paved the way for a new wave of Australian and international brands to follow suit. The works will be the first major redevelopment of Harbour Town Gold Coast in its 16-year history.
