Dowel Jones launches new Desktop Objects collection

Young Melbourne design studio Dowel Jones has launched its latest collections, with a range of desktop essentials and minimalist furniture pieces.

Dowel Jones is the brainchild of LAB DE STU’s Dale Hardiman and Adam Lynch, who founded the design studio in 2013. The premise behind the studio is to create objects and furniture that are simplified down to their bare essentials and use minimal materials and processes, whilst still maintaining their aesthetic values.

The design studio has just launched its two latest collections – Desktop Objects and the Hurdle Family. With an aim to keep your desk in check, the Desktop Objects collection features Blocchi, a desk friend crafted from a solid piece of American oak; the YOU Rule 30-cm ruler cut entirely from leather offcuts; and the Tombstone Mousepad, cut from a single piece of natural leather, with the option of a cararra marble backing.

The Hurdle Family consists of the stackable half-chair-half-stool Half Hurdle Chair, made up of two simple tube components almost disconnected from each other forming the backrest and legs, with an American oak or ply seat. The furniture range also includes the stackable and durable Hurdle Tray Side Table, and the bent-wood Full Hurdle Chair. You can browse the entire Dowel Jones range online.
