Awaken Residences is set to transform the iconic Duranbah Hill

It’s the talk of the town for a reason – take a peek at the transformative development hitting Duranbah, which is slated to offer 360-degree views both north and south of the Queensland-New South Wales border.

Duranbah’s laidback atmosphere and surf-centred lifestyle has long been a drawcard for locals and visitors alike. This served as an inspiration for S&S Projects, who is bringing the brand-new Awaken Residences to the seaside pocket of Coolangatta. After great success with the nearby Flow Residences, S&S Projects is currently constructing a 12-level tower of residential apartments, which will be perched in prime position on the Point Danger headland. The landmark development will target downsizing locals favouring luxury along with the coast’s incoming interstate buyers who have been attracted to the beachside lifestyle.

Serving up jaw-dropping 360-degree views, Awaken Residences will not only deliver luxury beachside living, but also be adorned with a large-scale – we’re talking 11-storey-high – art installation. Australian contemporary artist Lindy Lee will be behind the piece, which is set to take inspiration from the local landscape and surf culture. Also joining the line-up for Awaken Residences is a new-look incarnation of Cafe Dbar, which originally sat in the development site. The much-loved local institution will rejoin the site with an expanded presence including a higher venue capacity and two parts – the coastal cafe and a brand-new upstairs restaurant.
