Burleigh cafe Social Brew brings its green goodness to Paradise Point

There's no denying that a lot of the coast's foodie activity has been weighted on the southern end of late. So, when we get to chat about new cafes, restaurants and bars on the northern end, we get a tad excited. Social Brew, the bustling cafe in Burleigh's James Street arcade, is giving the north a taste of its goodness with a new venue in the heart of Paradise Point.  more

Sink your teeth into The Arts Centre Gold Coast’s gripping production of Dracula

If you've spent endless hours in front of the box watching Twilight and re-runs of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, then you've probably accrued some sort of fictional knowledge of vampires. Well, The Arts Centre Gold Coast is throwing it back, way back, to the pointy-toothed dude that started it all – Dracula. From August 8–9, the gripping gothic-horror classic will take the stage with an edgy production that will have you slapping your knee with laughter one minute, and clenching your fists in fear the next. Don't worry, there's no need to rock up with garlic around your neck ... or is there?  more

Start your morning right with an egg and bacon galette

They say getting out on the wrong side of the bed is a sure-fire way to start your day on the wrong foot. Well, for us our day starts off poorly if we haven’t had a decent breakfast. Sure, muesli and fruit is great, but in the colder months we find something warm to be preferable. Katrina Ryan from The Golden Pig Food & Wine School contributed to the gargantuan anthology The Great Australian Baking Book, which features great savoury day starters such as Katrina’s delicious recipe for egg and bacon galettes with caramelised onion. more
