Brisbane-based fashion designer Gail Reid rose to international stardom in 2010, after being chosen to showcase her collection at Dolce & Gabbana’s Milan boutique, Spiga2. Riding the wave of her recent success, Gail Reid has decided to open a base in Brisbane. Taking the plunge into the retail sphere, Gail has established a boutique in James Street this week housing her latest collection, Oh my goth!.

Gail’s label Gail Sorronda offers strong silhouettes, ultra-bright looks with feminine contrasts of sheer panelling, floral headpieces and polka-dot patterns. Pushing the boundaries while maintaining structured tailoring, Oh my goth! carries vivid accents of yellow, green and red, while other pieces in the collection follow Gail Sorronda’s classic black-and-white approach. The label’s signature ruffles, voluminous layers and textures are still present, amid a bold smattering of vibrant colour.

The new shop space also offers a chance for Gail to showcase new projects and collaborations – an accessories range designed in collaboration with Italian artist Grazia Fortuna-Ward is currently on display.
