Unleash your inner badass at Zero Latency, Brisbane’s first free-roam virtual reality experience

Are you the sort of person who watches The Walking Dead and thinks that you would absolutely be a top gun at nailing zombies? Or if you’ve ever tried to enjoy an adventure set in space and couldn’t help but wonder how you would fare on an intergalactic space mission? Well now is your chance to prove your chops, pals – Zero Latency has landed at Newstead, setting up shop as Brisbane first ever free-roam virtual reality experience.

So what exactly is Zero Latency? The Melbourne-based company has just launched its first Brisbane venture and it’s pretty damn exciting – taking up residence in a 400sqm warehouse, the virtual reality gameplay experience is the first of its kind in the country. You may be familiar with VR experiences that tether you to a device, but Zero Latency takes the game to a whole new level with its state of the art technology that allows free roaming – this makes the game far more social and interactive than previous efforts. Players see each other as full-motion avatars, allowing them to inhabit the same physical (and virtual) space, talk and strategise with each other.

The Newstead location plays host to Zero Latency’s full product offering, spanning across a range of experiences to suit different tastes and experience levels. The Engineerium is ideal for first-timers and virtual reality experimenters, bringing together platform and maze challenges designed to ease players into the VR world. The Zombie Survival is one for the thrill-seekers and the name says it all – can you stave off the flesh-eating humanoids until help arrives? There is also Singularity, pitting punters against killer robots and space drones in a secret military mission.

Ready to kick ass? Zero Latency is open now! You can check full details and opening hours over at the official website.
