Local designer Zara McKenna launches new collection
Capturing the sweetness and sunshine of a summer romance, the latest collection by local emerging designer Zara McKenna will launch at Laruche in Fortitude Valley on Thursday night. A charity event with all proceeds donated to the Heart Foundation, the launch honours Zara’s father Paul McKenna who passed away from heart disease earlier this year.
Featuring canapes, cupcakes, cocktails and, of course, a fashion parade, the event will showcase the new ZM spring/summer Pastel Sunset collection and launch a ZM menswear line. Drawing inspiration from the smell of dusk, sun-drenched days at the beach and the simple pleasures in life, Pastel Sunset combines block-coloured fabrics in mint and watermelon with floral patterns across feminine shapings.
Head along to Laurche on Thursday July 19 to score the first peek at 20-year-old Zara’s latest creative offerings as well as supporting a good cause.
