Urbanears releases Humlan washable headphones

Urbanears is at it again, creating new products for our eyes and hearts (and ears) to lust after.

Whether you’re using them while working up a sweat, tossing them in your tote just in case you feel like shutting out the world on your commute or taking them along to a silent disco, your headphones get quite the workout week in, week out. And with the fun colours of the Urbanears range, your pumpkin-hued ear-speakers are bound to get speckled with dirt and dust along the way.

The design-savvy folk behind the Swedish brand recognise that life isn’t all clean socks and sunshine, and so they’ve created the world’s first pair of washable headphones. In the new Humlan headphones, the headband and ear cushions are easy to remove, so you can toss these parts straight in the washing machine with the rest of your laundry. This removability also means you can change up the single colour tones of your headphones, switching parts with other tonal varietals. The new style also sports the ZoundPlug – a music sharing socket – and a microphone and remote for picking up calls, hands-free chats and skipping to the next song. Like all of the brand’s other styles, the Humlan headphones also take their name from a district of the designers’ hometown of Stockholm.
