twenty-seven names launches spring/summer collection

Anyone with a Pinterest account will regularly feel affected by the cuteness of cats. Soft fluffy balls of sweetness and sunshine playing with yarn, curled up in a cute bucket or flopped out on a crisp white pillow. It seems twenty-seven names designers Rachel Easting and Anjali Stewart were, too, feeling overly affectionate towards said pet this season, channelling kitty’s unbearable cuteness into their latest collection.

Entitled Nine Lives, the twenty-seven names summer 2012/2013 collection features a cat cameo upon jumpers, chiffon shirts, scallop-edged blazers and shift dresses. Hand drawn by Rachel, the cat cameo symbolises a guest from Katherine Mansfield’s short story The Garden Party, which inspired the new collection.

An assortment of ladylike separates and dresses of inter-war-era-inspired shapes, Nine Lives features tones of cream, burgundy and navy across cat and polka-dot prints, as well as an original vintage-inspired floral print created by the pair’s friend Marta. See the collection on the label’s new online store.
