The School, Sydney

Sydney’s The School hosts classes at Black and Spiro

Sydney-based The School has rounded up a clan of talented makers and popped them all on a bus to Brisbane. Normally based in an expansive, white-walled studio in Rosebery, The School is a hub for creative learning, hosting regular masterclasses and workshops for adults and kids to learn and play.

Popping up at Black and Spiro in New Farm this week, the Brisbane leg of The School’s roadshow lets locals learn the art of styling, try their hand at screenprinting and craft neat decorator-type items from paper. First up this Thursday is making flower bombs with Brisbane expat, Holly Hipwell. Day one of the Brisbane roadshow also coincides with the launch of creator Megan Morton’s new book, Things I Love.

On Saturday, Megan will divulge the science of styling in a day-long masterclass, letting participants dive headfirst into the theoretical and practical components of interiors styling. On Sunday, craftisan Lulu Lucky is hosting a workshop on making paper chandeliers, while the tour wraps up with Rachel from adorable bed-linen label Castle and Things teaching you to master the art of screenprinting. Pick a single class to learn a new skill or submerge yourself entirely in design, art and craft with The School at Black and Spiro this weekend.
