The Happy Cabin

Cool threads and hot soup at The Happy Cabin, West End

Lumberjacks and tribal-fashion enthusiasts rejoice; The Happy Cabin in West End has opened with a worldly array of brands new to Brisbane.

Created by local lady Leah Musch, The Happy Cabin name was inspired by a love of cabins and the cosiness they evoke. Obsessed with the summer camp scenes from movies The Parent Trap and Wild America, Leah has created a homely space with faux taxidermy and antlers, dimly lit vintage lamps, and woodsy tree-trunk racks and holders. Leah (with the help of good ol’ Dad) hand-built and welded the clothing racks, while the furniture was all found on the side of the road – upholding the eco ethos of previous tenants, Good Concepts eco store.

Stocking favourite men’s labels Mr Simple and The Herschel Supply Co., The Happy Cabin is also home to Mister jumpers and December Forever woven leather shoes, with many of the interstate and international brands discovered via Etsy. Lady friends will like the hand-painted leather pouches by Blackbird and the Owl from England, and Depeapa wooden printed jewellery from Spain. Stocking affordable apparel for both the student and the style-savvy gent, The Happy Cabin is the perfect place to pop in for a cup of soup, a chat and perhaps help Leah make some more pompoms.
