An avid organic foodist, New York-based Katharine Phillips L’Heureux had been tirelessly searching for an effective skincare range to match her healthy eating lifestyle. But it wasn’t until Katharine travelled to Morocco – where the skincare products she took with her were confiscated – that she discovered the natural remedy she had been seeking.

By law, only Berber women are allowed to hand extract and cold press the argan oil from the nuts of the Argan Forest trees in southwest Morocco – the sole location of the plant. This work provides the women of these poverty-stricken communities the opportunity for economic and social independence, with Kahina donating 25% of profits to assisting their development.
