Tweed Fashion

Smarten your attire with a touch of tweed

Sported by the likes of Gregory Peck and the Duke of Windsor (who was widely regarded as one of the most stylish men of the 20th century), tweed is a classic fabric that has been worn for as long as our grandparents can remember, and has always retained its status as a member of fashion’s finest pedigree.

Traditionally, tweed was worn head to toe in suit form, but the material loved by the tailors of Savile Row is now fashioned sparingly by having only one tweed element to an outfit. A simple tweed bow tie or blazer will instantly smarten your look – perfect attire for dinner or a date.

Channel the style of Gregory Peck by pairing a tweed blazer with a crisp white shirt, Oliver Peoples spectacles or sunglasses, chinos, brogues and a neatly knotted tie. For a timelier take on the classic tweed look, opt for a blazer with elbow patches or invest in a tweed peacoat. Always be sure to pair your tweed garments with well-tailored pieces, and remember that neglecting to iron a shirt worn under a tweed blazer is not an option.
