Slip in a trio of coloured bobby pins

While here in Brisbane we’re folding up our summer dresses and getting our coats dry-cleaned ready for another (brief) winter, the fashion pack on the other side of the globe have been busily showing off the trends of autumn/winter 2012/13.

Miu Miu in its usual grand pageant delivered Edwardian tailoring of lady suits with embellished collars and ruffled short fronts, beneath almost 70s mosaic prints, while Isabel Marant opted for Little House on the Prairie meets cowgirl rocker at Paris Fashion Week.

But it was the simplest of creations that stole the show. A trio of bobby pins slipped side-by-side into the hair near the temple. But while traditionally we’ve chosen to ‘hide’ these hair holders, the colour matching our hair, Cacharel opted for pastel blue and eye catching red, placed against a softening side part and a low ponytail.

Whether you hunt down the exact same pins or paint your own ‘natural’ coloured ones, this is one haute fashion trend that not only follows classic stylings, but can be duplicated by anyone without having to wait for next year’s cooler seasons to roll around.
