Greener ride-sharing service Scooti launches in Australia

A more eco-friendly approach to the daily commute has landed in Melbourne and is on its way to Queensland, with the arrival of new scooter-powered ride-sharing service Scooti.

Boasting a lofty goal to reduce traffic congestion and lower carbon emissions on our roads, Scooti strives to present a greener alternative for Aussie ride sharers. The service has just launched in Melbourne, offering up a fleet of scooters (and fully licensed drivers) rather than cars. The smaller vehicles aim to navigate inner-city gridlock better than their four-wheeled counterparts, making the commute both quicker and cheaper.

As Australia’s first government-compliant motor scooter ride-sharing service, Scooti ensures that all its drivers are trained, insured and certified, while customers are also provided with helmets, hairnets and safety vests, and can rate the service after their ride. All scooters come with a small luggage box that can house the average handbag, notebook or file. Scooti is now live in inner-city Melbourne, with plans to launch in Queensland and Sydney in the coming months. Find out more about becoming a passenger, and download the app via the App store for iPhone or Google Play for Android.
