Homecoming queens – online fashion empire Sabo Skirt opens its first bricks-and-mortar store
As much as we adore the sheer convenience of online shopping, sometimes we truly crave the in-store experience – feeling fabrics, trying things on and gleefully exiting a shop with a bag swinging from your arm is something else entirely. Thessy and Yiota Kouzoukas are well aware of this – the sister-in-law duo, online shopping mavens, Instagram stars and founders of cult fashion phenomenon Sabo Skirt are ready to give the people what they crave. The girls have taken the next huge step forward for their fashion empire, opening the first bricks-and-mortar location for the Sabo Skirt label at Westfield Chermside.
From humble beginnings in Thessy’s family bathroom, the Sabo Skirt brand has blown up internationally to become a favourite in many style circles. A huge online presence across Instagram coupled with some A-list fans (hello and a killer product has seen the brand go from strength to strength, so it was only natural that the sisters sought to open a concrete location in their native Brisbane. Despite a huge year of personal struggles for the pair, they have triumphed to create a space that will house the awesome sartorial offering that Sabo Skirt provides.
Taking up residence in the coveted Westfield Chermside fashion precinct that also plays host to cosmetic giant Sephora, the Sabo Skirt store will stock a great selection of the label’s core pieces and other lines. The space is reminiscent of the duo’s extremely chic office, which you know doubt would have lusted over if you’re familiar with the brand’s Instagram feed. The latest items from the newly launched Sabo Luxe join Sabo Swim and the ridiculously adorable Sabo Mini collections. The opening day on Saturday December 9 is set to be a luxe affair, with the first 100 people to make a purchase receiving a baller Sabo Skirt tote bag with goodies, an exclusive in-store offer and a meet and greet with the famous sisters.
Sabo Skirt will be open for your shopping pleasure from 10:00 am on Saturday December 9 – for more information, head to the Stumble Guide.
