Discover Rocker Classic Motorcycles at Nundah

In British history, the cafe racer finds its roots embedded in the 1960s counterculture of mods and rockers, while in Italy, it is the name given to the specific motorcycles used for short, sharp trips from one espresso bar to another. It’s with this cafe racer style of motorcycle that Matt Jones at Rocker Classic Motorcycles in Nundah has crafted a niche.

With the ideals of simplicity and classicism ingrained in its ethos, Rocker Classic Motorcycles executes services and repairs on bikes, as well as performing full customisations of cafe racers. Sourcing and importing bikes from around the globe, Rocker Classic Motorcycles focuses on pre-1989 Japanese and American bikes. Timeless models like the Yamaha SR400 and SR500, Kawasaki W650 and Honda’s GB series can be found in store, along with the shop’s own bike the Mark 1 being built to order.

Having opened the shop a year ago, Matt is slowly growing an entire lad pad culture for the space, collaborating with Paul Gordon from Race Cafe to open a cafe adjoining the garage. Next up, the Hero Cuts Barber Shop, run by an Iranian barber known solely as Daddy Cool, joined the fraternity.

Now, plans are in the works to open a craft beer bar inside as well, the retro fit-out complemented by a pool table, antique piano, 1980s arcade games and plans to host local bands and film screenings. Drop in for chats with the lads, browse the retro helmets and accessories, drink some coffee, play pinball and enjoy the general ambience, before hitting the road on your new weekender.
