Queen’s Wharf reveals plans for eye-popping luxury shopping precinct

Every time we venture into Brisbane City, we can’t help but try and get a peek at the progress of Queen’s Wharf, Destination Brisbane Consortium’s landmark $3.6-billion development. While we eagerly await details of the hub’s entertainment, leisure and hospitality offering, the Queen’s Wharf team has today announced plans for a three-level luxury retail strip, which will be constructed and curated in partnership with a leading retail giant. Here’s what we know …

Today The Star Entertainment Group, alongside its Hong Kong-based partners Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and Far East Consortium, has announced that DFS Group – one of the world’s leading luxury retail companies – has signed on to open a multi-level T Galleria store within the high-end shopping precinct at Queen’s Wharf. DFS, a retail-focused offshoot of Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) Group, will take over the heritage-listed Printery Building on George Street for the three-level emporium, which will add 6,000 sqm of retail floorspace (part of the development’s proposed 40,000 sqm of retail, food and beverage, and entertainment capacity) and showcase products from more than 100 brands. In addition to the T Galleria by DFS, 16 free-standing stores will be home to a collection of high-profile brands (headlined by Louis Vuitton), including some that will be new to Brisbane.

The Queen’s Wharf retail hub will join the ranks of the development’s previously announced amenities, which, upon completion, will include a resort-integrated casinofour hotels, a convention centreresidential apartments, a cavalcade of new drinking and dining spots, a Sky Deck, moonlight cinema, large swathes of open space and a new bridge connecting Queen’s Wharf to South Bank. We can expect the luxury shopping precinct to launch in late-2022 as part of Queen’s Wharf’s staged opening. We’ll have more details for you as they arise.
