Phoebe Paradise brings a splash of colour to The Valley with new store

If you’ve seen a bunch of fashionable folk strutting around in some loud and vibrant clothing recently, there’s a good chance they’re dressed in Phoebe Paradise. The Brisbane-born label run by the talented artist of the same name has become more and more coveted and acclaimed in recent years, and now Phoebe Paradise has opened a brick-and-mortar space on Ann Street in Fortitude Valley. Inspired by Phoebe’s own eclectic, D.I.Y. aesthetic, this space is set to be much more than just a super-fashionable boutique.

It’s no secret that we’ve already fallen in love with the garments created by artist Phoebe Paradise. With an aesthetic self-described as ‘loud, a little bit rude and not boring’, Phoebe’s work is becoming synonymous with Brisbane style. The past few months has seen Phoebe working towards her newest venture – a physical store where she could showcase her art and clothing as well as garments from other covetable labels. Finding a suitable spot in Fortitude Valley near Winn Lane, Phoebe Paradise has now opened her store to the public – a creative space that adds some pop and punk to Ann Streets shop frontage. The Phoebe Paradise store eschews the use of negative space in favour of eye-catching design. All walls feature pops of colour and will remain interactive and ever changing – gradually transforming the space into an art installation that you can shop in.

As of opening, the racks are stocked with a comprehensive selection from Phoebe’s past collections, including her most recent range ‘Hot Mess‘, her signature range of socks, pins, patches and earrings, and new runs of her iconic mangrove dresses, tees and swing dresses. Soon Phoebe will be giving window and rack space to other independent labels to stock their garments, and will be looking to host in-store gigs in the near future. Patrons can also come in and enquire about custom work, with Phoebe happily putting her stamp on clothing items to create unique one-off pieces. Keep your eyes out for new collections and small runs of new gear, as well as collaborations with other like-minded outfits.
