Ontour designs threads for the modern gardener

The folk over at Dutch clothing label Ontour know that just because you enjoy digging around in the garden, doesn’t mean you have to pull out stubbies and a 20-year old t-shirt for the occasion.

Inspired by world of guerrilla gardening, Ontour’s spring/summer collection encourages bringing a touch of green back to city streets and giving your green thumb a workout. The collection pairs functionality with the idea of classy sportswear to create a range of shorts, chinos and tees that add colour and style to your weekend gardening deeds.

Founded by friends Remco van der Velden and Etienne Dekkers in 2005, Ontour creates clothing for people appreciative of quality and simplicity, with a new theme chosen for each season. The spring/summer 2013 range took the idea of creating a uniform for the modern gardener, using a palette of strong blues, olives and burnt orange as a base and adding highlights with pastel shades.

A selection of the brand’s jackets like parkas, bombers and hoodies is available at Gear in West End to suit the current cooler months, with the shorts not going astray in our Queenslander weather either.
