Scratch some ink into sustainable stationery from Notely
A clutch of local creatives from around the crooks of Brisbane launched a stationery line with a difference last month, presenting a sweet range of eco-friendly notebooks.
Every creative being knows that the flicker of inspiration that comes to you in the middle of the night cannot go unrecorded, just as the prickling of ideas that spark on a public transport commute cannot go unacknowledged. If you’re partial to scribbling indecipherable code on the back of your hand or on a dirty tissue found in the bottom of your backpack, it might be time you gave those genius ideas the respect they deserve by documenting them in equally beautiful tomes.
The very first collection of notebooks released by new local stationery line Notely offers the perfect net to catch your waves of brilliance. Bound in simple block colours or exclusive designs by Australian creatives, the A5/A6 lined and blank pads boast 100% carbon neutral paper. Made from 100% post consumer waste free from virgin paper fibres, the sheets are created using a chlorine-free process. Soy-based inks and FSC-certified printing methods combine to offer a tactile surface perfect for sketching and writing. Design Montage founder Jenica Smith and a few of her cleverest pals have put their heads together to offer beautiful hands-on stationery that won’t harm the environment. Head online to browse Collection 1, which features the fine embellishments of Brisbane artist Jack Tierney and children’s book illustrator Sophie Jamieson.
