Nimble Activewear has opened its first Queensland store on James Street
Looking to overhaul your winter wardrobe and add a few key activewear pieces? Look (or rather, stroll) no further than James Street, where Australian activewear label Nimble Activewear has just opened its first-ever Queensland store. Here’s all of the key deets …
If you have a love of lycra or a particular passion for fitness-focused fashion, then you’re probably already well acquainted with Nimble Activewear. The brand was founded in 2013 by best friends, Vera Yan and Katia Santilli, after bonding over a love of a great sweat session and the struggle of finding quality (read: durable) activewear. The new James Street location is the activewear brand’s third retail store (and its first in our sunny state!), joining flagship boutiques in Bondi Beach and Melbourne’s Armadale. It’s luxe Fortitude Valley digs were designed as a space for customers to interact with the brand while discovering its commitment to sustainability, and features an experiential ‘sustainability wall’ created to educate and inspire, while a bespoke light installation highlights the process of how the brand’s custom-engineered MoveLite fabrication is created using recycled plastic bottles.
Beloved by gym-gear junkies and sustainability-savvy folk, Nimble is best known for its feminine prints and colour palette which are designed in-house, and its focus on custom-engineered fabrications that have been made from recycled plastic bottles. Now, how does that work? The recycled bottles are broken into flakes, melted into pellets and then spun into yarn, allowing them to be reused as fabric. Earlier this year Nimble Activewear marked a milestone, reaching their initial goal of saving more than one million recycled plastic bottles. As part of their ongoing commitment, the brand is working towards becoming a fully sustainable brand with zero waste. A pretty good goal, if you ask us.
Nimble is now open. For opening hours and contact details, head to the Stumble Guide.
