Prep for your next adventure with a Trailblazer Backpack from Mountain Yak

The Mountain Yak is a reliable and tireless animal – one that is synonymous with the beautiful regions of Nepal. Taking the noble beast as its namesake, Brisbane-based Mountain Yak is an operation that has just launched a crowd-funding campaign to produce its new range of hemp backpacks that are not only durable but also made in conjunction with local Nepalese communities.

Andy Sutton and Mickey Pascoe are a pair of intrepid travellers who are the co-owners of Mountain Yak – a company that designs and manufactures hemp backpacks made using environmentally sustainable and ethically sound methods. After spending time with communities in Nepal to cultivate strong relationships, Mountain Yak works with locals to create beneficial opportunities for locals. Mountain Yak has just launched a crowd-funding campaign for the Trailblazer Series – a collection of wild hemp backpacks that are free from pesticides, herbicides and fertilisers while also being tech-friendly and durable.

The Trailblazer Series is a collection of three versatile backpack varieties made from hemp fibre that has been hand-woven and hand-crafted by artisans and assembled by master tailors. The Pioneer pack is a great everyday pack for general use, while The Adventurer is a top loading rucksack that is perfect for rugged travellers and people on the move. The final piece of the collection is The Explorer – a large pack that can fit most baggage with plenty of compartments to work with. The Trailblazer Series is only available through the IndieGoGo page, be sure to check out what is available before the campaign ends in late November.
