One-of-a-kind vintage jewels get a new lease on life with Molten Store’s latest venture

James Street’s beloved Molten Store has been stealing our hearts on the regular with its ever-changing range of otherworldly finery, and now the treasure trove has added a new layer to its business. Molten Store Vintage has arrived to celebrate sustainable style and give old bespoke pieces a second chance to shine.

Molten Store Vintage is a unique concept in that it is sourced directly from the Melbourne Mint, Australia’s most respected precious metals dealer. The partnership is unique because the Melbourne Mint is typically known for sourcing diamond and fine jewellery pieces that are destined for a fate of being refined down to produce recycled metal. Through its partnership, Molten Store has flipped the script, intercepting the stunning array of antique jewellery that is sourced by the Mint. Once Molten Store procures a piece, it is carefully assessed and restored so that it can enjoy a second life – and so you can enjoy something totally unique.

The one-of-a-kind-aspect isn’t the only appealing part of Molten Store Vintage – the ethos behind the range is just as important. The whole process is aimed provide a more transparent and sustainable approach to jewellery, showing customers that by taking some extra care and time, these long-forgotten items can shine again. The zero-waste commitment doesn’t just stop with the restoration – all pieces that aren’t adopted into the Vintage range are melted down by the Melbourne Mint for recycling, while special stones are then pulled, reclaimed and repurposed into Molten Store’s in-house handmade collections.
