Milk From A Thistle

Milk From A Thistle winter arrives at Blonde Venus

The whimsical woodland creatures of past collections have been put on hold, letting the forest greenery itself take centre stage in the latest collection from Milk From A Thistle.

The Sydney label was founded in 2006 by Danielle Atkinson, with each collection designed and made in Australia. Making bold, unique hand and digital prints the focus of each collection, Milk From A Thistle stands out amongst a sea of dark winter shades. The autumn/winter 2013 collection sees splashes of acid yellow and punk pink injected across a palette of bronze, navy, burgundy and grey.

Contrasting textures draw interest, with delicate silks and soft merino wool mingling with more shape-set leather and quilting. Stand-out pieces in the collection include the leather Nowadays Tunic with wool sleeves and the Parklife Silk Tee in the Alpine striped print with leather sleeves. In a high-end take on the classic sloppy joe, the Woodchip Quilted Sweater in 100% cotton also comes in The Yeti Dress style. Proving good things come in threes, the burgundy Bungalow Knit sees asymmetrical navy and emerald sleeves and the Anchorage shirtdress in petroleum blue features acid yellow cuffs and a burgundy collar and button strip.

Find these pieces and more at Blonde Venus in Fortitude Valley, where the exciting collection from Melbourne lass Natalie Encarnita (who we interviewed recently) has just arrived in store too.
