Goodbye productivity – Zoos Victoria is live-streaming animals for your viewing pleasure

With so much uncertainty swirling around right now, it’s wise to seek out things that make you smile. So, here’s something that will surely make you beam from ear to ear – Zoos Victoria is currently live streaming its animals for your viewing pleasure. So, it’s goodbye productivity – hello baby snow leopards.

If you’re going to get distracted by anything today – make it this. To bring a little bit of joy to Australians (and the world), Zoos Victoria has begun live streaming its animals at Melbourne Zoo and Werribee Open Range Zoo. Its #AnimalsAtHome initiative means that you can jump to the website at any time of day or night and catch the action live from a bunch of the zoo’s enclosures. Be warned – once you start, you can’t stop. If you’re anything like us, you’ll be glued to the screen eager to know if Ed the Fiordland Penguin is going to waddle over to that seagull that just flew into his enclosure and really give him a piece of his mind. It’s truly gripping stuff, folks. We’re hooked.

There’s also the teeny tiny baby snow leopards that have just left their nest box and are exploring the outside world, and Giraffe Cam where you can spy on the towering beauties (who apparently spend most of the day eating – what a life) in real-time. On Lion Cam, there’s a bunch of lazy lions prowling around their very own Pride Rock exuding some very real Lion King vibes, sans Pumbaa and Timon. The animals wonder around as they please, so if they aren’t there when you look, it’ll only be a matter of minutes before they pop up on the screen. Go on, head to the website and distract yourself for hours. Ed is waiting for you.

Bonus – there’s feel-good live-streaming going on SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, too. Playtime with Pig (its adorable resident dugong) is happening at 10:45 am AEDT on Friday March 20 via its Facebook page, but if you miss it be sure to check back for future screenings so you can watch Pig live his best life.
