Slip into sustainable made-to-order fashion from Marlo by Marlo
The fashion world has been graced with a crisp new label that blends natural fibres with a sustainable mindset and effortless chic.
Make way for Marlo by Marlo – the eponymous label from Sydney designer Marlo Grover, which not only aims to empower the women who wear it, but also women in small business around the country. A percentage from each garment sold will be contributed each year to an Australian fund that provides grants and support to women launching and leading small businesses. The female-led label launched this year, with every piece from the debut collection Release 1 dreamed, designed, patterned, cut and sewn in Sydney. Half of the pieces are dedicated made-to-order garments in a bid to reduce excess stock, minimise wastage and avoid landfill, while the remaining half will be produced in small batches and limited sizes to avoid over-production.
Around 90 percent of the debut range is cut from natural fibres, which means a long lifespan while also breaking down naturally at the end of its use. Linen makes a welcome appearance in Marlo by Marlo favourites such as the Cuffed Linen Tea Dress, the Carefree Linen Wrap Skirt and the Linen Tie Back Top.
