Made by Hands Not Robots pops up at Kobblers, Bardon

Bringing the pop-up shop culture to the suburbs, Made by Hands Not Robots is an exhibition of locally handmade goods made from salvaged materials.

Promoting recycling and repurposing in design, as well as all things eco and made with love, Made by Hands Not Robots will be popping up at the petite and sweet Kobblers cafe in Bardon this month, running from May 1–21. The collective behind the shop includes local makers Mata Roman (Three Pockets), Tania Bosworth (Blanket) and Elise Crocker (Lalaluka).

By day, these three local ladies work in interior design, while by night they’re dabbling in art and homewares design. Three Pockets began its life as an upcycling project, turning old jeans into work aprons, while Lalaluka makes greeting cards and treasures for your home. Blanket’s wares are all handmade using locally salvaged materials, including clay succulent pots in macrame holders. Head along for a coffee, chinwag and spot of shopping this weekend.
