Just moments from the leaf-laden James Street precinct is where you’ll discover Loyal Hope, the perfect setting for weddings, cocktail events, workshops and presentations. The storied venue was constructed all the way back in 1923 for the Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows Friendly Society, a philanthropic organisation run by members to assist with healthcare and funeral expenses during a time when there was little or no government arrangements to fall back on. Now many moons later, the picture-perfect white-timber country hall has recently (and very lovingly) been restored to its former glory. Think polished timber floorboards, 4-m-high ceilings and vast sash windows that look out to the neighbouring park and the stone facade of Saint Patrick’s Church. Outside, the venue’s transformation has been completed with a lush green courtyard sheltered by a heritage-listed Moreton Bay fig, offering an enchanting setting with an endless amount of photo opportunities.
Once again available to use by the wider community for venue hire, the dreamy locale will see many devoted lovebirds fill the space with their nearest and dearest for wedding ceremonies (yep, you can actually get married inside!) and receptions. Hire of the space is exclusive and includes all of the wedding-day necessities like a fully stocked feature bar, cocktail furniture, designer furniture pieces, AV and sound system, air-conditioning, onsite styling services and an onsite manager to make sure everything runs smoothly. The venue is suited for more intimate receptions, with sit-down and theatre functions able to cater for 80 guests and cocktail-style receptions can cater for 100 friends and family.
