Sydney label Lee Mathews opens on James Street
A design emporium of plants in jars and looped strings of industrial lighting, the new Lee Mathews store on James Street is the renowned Sydney label’s first foray into our sunny state. A brand that fully embraces effortless elegance, weaving modern feminine cuts with a classic palette, Lee Mathews has crafted a summer collection that delivers notes of nostalgia for weekends at the country cottage and relaxed days picnicking in vast fields.
The Fortitude Valley space is a perfect mix of industrial and antique. A feature wall of old doors and windows frames the back, while English country furniture holds shoes, accessories and cushions from the homewares range. Unique prints and block colours from flat silver to poppy red make up the summer collection now hanging in store, exuding the signature elements of handstitched details and floaty cotton fabrics.
This latest addition to Brisbane’s fashion scene will also be seen at the opening Group Show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival on August 26 alongside Akira, Scanlan & Theodore, Ginger & Smart and Easton Pearson.
