New Kookai store brings French flair to James Street
Paris is not only renowned for being the city of love, lights and croissants, but is also home to a flock of infinitely chic women. Brisbanites seeking a spot of French dressing will find it in spades at Kookai, which has opened a new boutique in Fortitude Valley.
Kookai currently has 31 boutiques throughout both Australia and New Zealand, now adding another to its Queensland contingent. This store joins the hub of cafes and boutiques that line the sunny street of pedestrian paradise, James Street. After your morning brew at Jamie’s Espresso Bar, you can add to your wardrobe at the French label’s new store, located just around the corner from the electronic mecca that is the Bose store.
Kookai as a brand is already known for being a haven for basics created from soft jerseys, bright prints and feminine cuts. These days the chic streetwear label is also home to swimwear and an accessories line that includes sunglasses and bags. The store’s arrival just off James Street coincides with the launch of Kookai’s spring/summer collection – the iridescent, Arabesque. Swanning through the range you’ll see reflections of its inspiration – vibrant Morocco – within the swatches of bright shades, with the collection matching loose drapery and long skirts to eclectic prints.
