Keep the cold at bay with a woolly scarf

Keep the cold at bay with a woolly scarf

Winter’s calling and while diving under the doona and preparing to hibernate might sound like heaven, it’s not really a practical solution. A much easier way to keep away the dastardly chills is to wrap up in a woolly scarf.

With the range of winter scarves available on the market, there’s bound to be a scarf design out there for you – one option is to follow in the footsteps of Edward VIII, who favoured the ever-popular Fair Isle design. Drake’s sell one of these creations online at Mr Porter. Founded in 1977 the British house specialises in handmaking scarves and ties of silk and wool for the debonair. These scarves offer a combination of all things winter – a palette of greens and browns with a woolly fringe.

If you’re looking for some winter warmers a little bit closer to home, Country Road sells a range of woolly creations. With winter accessories involving textured knits, dip dye techniques, coloured stripes and fringed variations, these scarves are a long way from basic black. The speckled Twist Yarn Cable Scarf is textured, colourful and, most importantly, big enough to wrap around your neck and keep the cold at bay.
