Karen Walker delivers fantastic new collection
While in the northern hemisphere, Karen Walker has just shown next season’s fall/winter collection in New York, heavy with trenches and knits in a hefty amount of khaki, the new line locally is a light mix of white polka dots on ice blues and galactic navy prints.
Fantastique Magnifique combines futuristic optimism with candy-pink lady-like sweetness, contrasting the signature Karen Walker boxy cuts with notes of femininity. A fairy-floss lightness takes over the pastel tones of pink, beige and blue, while metallic gold, tangerine, navy and coral stand out strongly in comparison.
The much-loved sweatshirting of last year returns across tops and dresses, with sharp suits and Audrey Hepburn-worthy coats making keeping warm effortless throughout winter. Cropped wide-leg pants, 1960s shift dresses and a handful of tweed will stand the test of time, the perfect match for the new Karen Walker Forever collection of eyewear, having teamed up with Mr Ari Seth Cohen of Advanced Style for the shoot.
